Prince Edgar of Titania is unseen minor character in the main storyline of erion saga book series, he was only heard and mentioned in the game four times during the game's storyline plot progress, He was King Gallon's eldest son, a former prince of titania and Oswald's biological father, he did not have any appearance and was only mentioned during the cutscenes of the storyline, but he is a major influence on the story's climax.
Profile Overview[]
Edgar is the biological father of Oswald along with his unnamed wife who was Oswald's biological mother, they we're both killed by king gallon's assassins before the main events of the story started.
He was the previous prince of titania and was supposedly the next in line to ascend in the throne after his father, but his marriage to a commoner woman had his father enraged out of him causing him to turn insane and rampage through their kingdom for a week, during this time, edgar had a child with his commoner wife and the two later escape together away from their monstrous father in order to protect his new wife and his newborn baby oswald, but later they we're eventually found and got killed by gallon's assassins along with his commoner newly wed wife but they we're able to hide their baby, edgar's ascension to the throne was transferred to his younger edmund instead after his death.
Edgar is one of the two sons of king gallon alongside edmund with his unknown wife, edgar is the first child and eldest of their family while his younger brother edmund is the second child of their family who instead inherited the throne rather than edgar, his father banished him for marrying a commoner and his ascension to the throne was transferred to his younger brother after his banishment from their imperial family.

Edgar was an unseen character in the game and he was only mentioned in the storyline of the game by Gallon, Brom, Dragon Hindel and Oswald, and later in leifthrasir, the remake edition of odin sphere released in 2016, he was given a possible portrait image in this remake edition that shows Edmund and Edgar together in their youth though their faces are shadowed Edgar's hair resembles Oswald's except being blonde, unlike Oswald's more silvery white color. It's possible that his facial features are similar to Oswald.

Edgar seems to be caring for his son Oswald as he hid him so he couldn't be found and to be killed by King Gallon's assassins like what happened to him and to his wife.
Background Story[]
Leifthrasir reveals in the text of "Two Princes and the Treasured Sword" that Ragnanival had given them the Psypher Blade as proof of their alliance. Edgar became fond of the Sword and Gallon gave him the blade but Edgar's brandishing of the blade caused him to accidentally injure Gallon. Though the cut was minor and shallow Gallon became furious and became distant and cold with Edgar. While Edgar was supposed to become the next King of titania after his father King Gallon. It is possible this incident is what led to Gallon to regard his son with intense paranoia and suspicion. Gallon wanted his oldest son Edgar to marry someone who also came from a royalty background. Edgar defies Gallon renouncing his royal blood and marries a commoner woman in their Kingdom which made King Gallon resenting for his choice of action regarding who to love.
Edgar's wife later gave birth to a baby, however King Gallon fearing for his life and believing that Edgar would return to kill him, sent assassins after them. They killed Edgar and his wife in secrecy however Edgar was able to hide their baby which would be found later by Melvin and his raise him to become a black shadow knight as an elite soldier whom was Oswald and as his right hand man in behalf of him while being his adopted son. Ironically enough Oswald would bring the end that King Gallon feared for so long from Edgar.
Plotline Summary Perspective[]
Edgar was first mentioned in the storyline of the game by a dragon named Hindel, before he is slain Hindel will inform Oswald of his true father's name. Though Oswald would refute the name he would regardless remember the name. Edgar would later be mentioned when after Melvin's attempted coup Oswald in despair would find Brom and learn that his parents had died and that Melvin had 'kidnapped' him. In Cornelius' story Edmund would mention his brother and how he, as Edmund believed, died after marrying a commoner.
Edgar's name would go unmentioned till Armageddon when Gallon would seize control of the army of the Netherworld and fulfill his role as a calamity. Initially when he meets Oswald he is unaware of his true heritage and believed himself safe. However after being defeated he would ask Oswald who his father was. Oswald would first admit he never knew his parents but remembering Hindel's words he told that his father was a man named Edgar. Gallon instantly recognizes the name and would come to understand the reason for his defeat. He would explain how he expected Edgar to take the throne but Edgar defied him by marrying a commoner and running away. Gallon was deeply convinced that Edgar would seek to kill him and so he sent assassins to kill him. However Oswald would escape to live and be the downfall that Gallon always feared. After Gallon's death Oswald would realize that in truth his father let him escape to the fairies in order to live.

King Gallon[]
While not much is known of their initial relationship based on the clues given by context of books and characters it could be assumed that Edgar was the favored son between him and Edmund. So much so that he gave Edgar the Psypher Sword when asked. But after the incident that resulted in Gallon's very minor injury Gallon began to view Edgar with an immense and, never fully explained, paranoia. It appears though that Gallon tried to remedy this by having Edgar go through with an arranged marriage but Edgar refused and renounced his bloodline and chose to marry a commoner. With this Gallon's paranoia grew to such heights that he had assassins kill Edgar as he 'knew' that Edgar would come to end his life.
King Edmund of Titania[]
Edgar's relationship with his brother is not known, what is known is that he has no idea of the truth to his brother's death believing he had died due to illness when in reality he had been assassinated by his own sire. It was because of this death that he urge Cornelius to stop seeing Velvet and marry royalty.
Oswald the Shadow Knight[]
Edgar's relationship with his son is one of a very loving parent as Edgar would hide his son from the assassins sent by his father, letting his son escape to live. Oswald initially believed Edgar had abandoned him due to Melvin's influence but upon learning the truth from Gallon he came to realize that his father sacrificed his life so his son could live.
