Haljas are ghostly specters that acts as guardians and the messengers of death from the Netherworld, they also act as sub bosses of the Netherworld and some storyline missions. The Halja only obey that is the current ruler of the Netherworld. When Odette lived it was her they obeyed but when she was destroyed by Gwendolyn they turned to Gallon who was the only other being besides Odette with powers from the underworld due to the Curse of Darkova.

Mob Profile Overview[]

Haljas are the escorts of netherworld leaders and act as messengers and takers of the living that are destined to be sent in the netherworld upon dying especially if it was to be done on purpose by means of pact deal, for example, oswald who had his soul traded by his adoptive father to the queen of the netherworld in exchange of a curse power in the belderiver psypher to increase it's strength power in order to make it's user more a powerful attacking unit, in case of boosting oswald's power to make him the most powerful warrior among the ringford military and also as the right hand man of it's marshal commander.

Haljas also acts as mini bosses in the netherworld endelphia, and as one of the main bosses of a certain map called the valentine kingdom related to main missions of the story in oswald's side perspective in his book called the black sword.

These creatures are the only undefeatable entities the main storyline, they cannot be defeated to be killed with anything other than demon lord odin's balor weapon, this can be seen in cutscenes of the main storyline when demon lord odin threatens haljas with his giant wrecking ball weapon during his visit in the netherworld when he rescued his daughter velvet from the shrine temple of the lifeless domain where they have shown a fear with demon lord odin's weapon, which means they can be killed with this giant wrecking ball weapon of his.

A player or anyone defeating them in the battle does not mean death to these creatures but would rather only disappear away in the darkness meaning the had only retreated after losing the battle once they got tired or they cannot take out their opponents.

Whereabouts[]

These undead enforcers are usually and mostly found only in the netherworld but these creatures can also spawn and be found in any other places whenever haljas wanted to go such as if it had a mission to fulfill being ordered to do by their queen odette, as their job are being the messengers of death for such instance when oswald was in exchange by the trade for the curse power that was put into his belderiver psypher which was requested by his adoptive father, the haljas kept and kept following the shadow knight and attempted to attack him to make oswald stop in his tracks to be taken away to the netherworld as the deal request closing is near.

Haljas spawned in multiple locations in erion for following oswald, these creatures have spawned in the ruins of the valentine kingdom where haljas attempted to stop oswald by attacking him that resulted in failure as oswald prevailed victory over the messengers of death, the second one was in the ringford kingdom during the rebellion where he was directly taken to the netherworld from this location right after his adoptive father's death and the defeat of their battalions against mercedes although oswald was able to escape netherworld later and the last one was in the path walk bridge around the outskirts of the elrit castle where the halja retook and brought him to the netherworld once again.

These messengers of death would later march along with their new leader king gallon after queen odette was destroyed by gwendolyn after she retook oswald from queen odette's hands in the netherworld and from this location to the ragnanival kingdom, elrit forests and lastly the kingdom of titania where haljas marched along with king gallon during the armageddon period of the erion saga main storyline in which all of these locations we're technically destroyed in the process, but the haljas and king gallon would later be all defeated by oswald in the armageddon period of the erion saga main storyline during their successful assault in the kingdom of titania.

Their status and presence was unknown after their defeat in the armaggedon along with king gallon, but it can be assumed that the haljas may have respawned back in the newly reformed netherworld without or with unknown leader that handles these death enforcer creatures and might still live even through out by the time that alice was reading the erion saga book series in her time in the early 19th century (1800), 1038 years after the erion saga main storyline, due to the fact that haljas are death creatures itself and cannot die as these are immortal and are already being associated with death which could be mean that the haljas never truly dies but would rather be gone temporarily and spawns later back in their own lifeless domain.

Appearance Traits[]

Haljas somehow resembles of a floating dark blue green cloak with a blue stripes of smoke coming from it's cloakhead part and it has muscular male body chest markings on it's torso part, halja's face is unseen and they don't have legs nor feet, they also lack of skin and flesh, their hands are colored in green and it is in skeletal appearance, they hold a blue diamond in their right hand and they wear an armguard that resembles of a ship's steering wheel, and in their left hand they hold a short scythe that they use as their main weapon in attacking.

Mob Battle Characteristics[]

Haljas are one of the difficult mini bosses in the game and it is even more difficult as a boss when playing as oswald, probably due to them being in twins, teamed up with each other that both attack the player, they have the ability to teleport that sometimes evade the player attacks which making them more quite difficult to be defeated unlike any other mini bosses to be fought, they summons a group of ghost that causes area of effect damage to players, in leifthrasir edition, they have the ability to transform into a flying creature that resembles of a small dragon and charge towards the player that can inflict a significant damage and do blast charge while shielding the player's attacks.

Background Story[]

It is unknown how haljas came to existence, but according to the ancient religions that surrounds the story, they may have probably existed before the formation of erion and probably may have also existed as with the time creation of the netherworld endelphia, this lifeless domain undead lair along with the volcanic lands of the volkenon lava pits are the two oldest locations in erion, forming around 3.5 - 2.5 billion years ago, these two locations are the first ones to form within the land of erion before the formation of other land forms in this regional area, there are no exact details, about the creation of haljas, the god may have created them as for the purpose of being takers of sinners that are brought to be punished in the afterlife that god created for the living people where they are destined to go after dying in the living world while being sinful.

Haljas is among the oldest creatures in erion, they are atleast to be estimated more than a billion year old, which makes them probably sharing the same age as erion itself or much older, they among the first creatures to be created in universe during the world's first half billion years of evolution and formation, however haljas are not known during this time until the main storyline events of the story.

Fate Status[]

Compared to the other creatures in erion, the haljas survived even after the almost total destruction of erion, they simply returned back to the afterlife using traverse portal during the ongoing events of the armageddon after king gallon's defeat in the ruins of the kingdom of titania by oswald.

Haljas we're last seen in the kingdom of titania during it's destruction in the armageddon period of the erion saga main storyline, it it assumed that it was their last presence as they we're last seen in this location and totally begone out after their defeat along with king gallon and their status became unknown after this incident but haljas may have respawned back to the lifeless domain of the newly reformed netherworld which is an afterlife place that cannot be destroyed and will only rather reformed after it's destruction during the armageddon period of the main storyline, it can be also assumed that haljas might still exists even during alice's time in the early 1800s where she was reading the erion saga book series which is a series of books of the erion saga story that tells the tales of the five heroes how they saved the world from the total destruction.

However during alice's reading of the erion saga book series, haljas we're not present and still unknown in status as they we're never seen during her time.

This notedly reported activity of theirs, reveals that haljas actually survived the armageddon event part, as they cannot die to the fact they are itself as deaths, meaning they are already lifeless and will likely only to respawn even if killed, so this means they are still present even in the modern times but it is unknown if they still re-appear to the living after the main storyline, their only mission in the land of living is only to bring messengers to those that will be taken by them through orders or take the souls of sinful sinners from a recently died living in the world of living.

Trivia[]

  • In japanese, they are addressed and referred to as 'shinigami', a term used to mean 'death gods', which is very fitting for their role.
